Youngsters’ Worship
Nowadays, star-worshiping is popular among teenagers, especially many university students.
Why? When it comes to the symptoms of worshiping a star, the main factor I’d like to mention is imitation. With a blind love for their idols, teenagers firmly believe that their choices are the best. As a result, the stars’ clothes, hairstyles and hobbies, as well as their behaviors in public, are closely observed or followed, though, to some extent, they may be considered improper or even ridiculous.
In my opinion, having idols is not a bad thing. However, we should make it clear who are the real “heroes”. As far as I am concerned, the real heroes are those who are making the most contributions to our society, such as teachers, doctors and scientists. As students, we should learn from them. Only in this way can we become useful persons in the future.

Although nothing is like home, living in a parent-free environment can be one of the most fun things in your college life. In spite of its obvious drawbacks, staying away from home contributes to the full university experience that money can buy. Part of any student's decision on where to live is a financial one; however, money being not the issue, it is better for you to go for a new experience, if only for fun. Dorm life is real fun, even more so when your room is situated in the university's residence hall. To begin with, living in a dorm is a sure opportunity to meet people, so it is hard to feel lonely. For freshmen who are prone to 'homesickness', the companionship found there can make the transition away from home easier. Further, dorm life is a crash course in interpersonal skills because you need to learn how to get along with your roommates as well as people in your hallway.
Needless to say, it is more convenient to live on campus since you can walk everywhere you need to go without the trouble of commuting. Is it not that that kind of campus life which you have been waiting for? Nevertheless, living away from home is sometimes not as interesting as expected. Apart from financial considerations, there are other factors to consider. For one thing, roommate conflict could sound like a potential nightmare. Chances are that some roommates could be worse than others, making your dorm life somewhat difficult, indeed. For another, constant companionship implies lack of privacy which you usually enjoy at home. Moreover, even when you like to meet people, it could so happen that they are not all going to be people you want to meet. Altogether, money permitted, college life could not possibly be fun enough without the experience of living away from home. Such experience, even though not entirely agreeable, may be of use to a student soon to become a mature member of the community. In fact, if dorm life appears to you like freedom from parental control, you would soon realize that it is fun to be free, at least for a while.

We Should Balance Our Love
Nowadays it is common to see that many parents focus their attention on their children, but leave their own parents without proper care. The most typical example is the phenomenon of empty nest seniors. This problem has aroused the public concern and has become the hot topic of many discussions.
Paying little attention to older parents can have serious consequences. First, the elderly often feel lonely and depressed if there is no child with whom they can talk, and this can have a bad effect on their mental health. Second, the aged parents with no children by their sides can have a lot of trouble in their daily life due to disease or old age.
In my opinion, we should take the following measures. Children should be encouraged to live with or near their old parents, which is very helpful for them to know their parents, concern and attend their daily life. And it is also necessary for them to create chances to communicate with their aged parents. Besides, our govemmeiit should strive to establish the service system for the elderly and expand its social insurance coverage among them.
great days to be remembered seldom come, but small ones surround us daily.
i do not have a roman holiday, but i have a non smoking day instead.
today a nc-smoking sign easily hooks up my interesting and rewarding eperience on the world non smoking day a few years
as a high school student, i, together with my friends, volunteered on a campaign to discourage public smoking by persuacling people in public places to etinguish their cigarettes and put the cigarette ends into our metal boes. and we would in return give them a memorial sticker bearing patterns and words voicing the theme of the non smoking day.
the first step is never a fast step. after hunting for quite a while, we set our target on a young man who was enjoying his cigarette at a bus stop. embracing the philosophy of "nothing ventured, nothing gained", we summoned up all our courage, walked up and asked, "sir, would you please not smoke in public places?" "it is none of your business! why are you so busily engaged in such things? go and mind your own eams!" he was great, i believed, for he was able to drag on his cigarette while at the same time not giving his tongue a break. and i further found out that for this man, such words as "good for your health" or "good for common courtesy" had long lost their appeal. maybe such kind of situation should call for some other policy. i managed a smile, blended with sweet words and tried to dilute his resistance. and when we put the sticker on his clothes, he was lingering over the joy of having done us "a big favor."
now you see, maybe flattery should be vindicated, for to please is a great step toward persuading and a smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
our work ran smoothly when things began easy to handle in the afternoon. but don't worry. troubles are just around the corner. the second hard rock we met was a middle aged man who appeared to be more of a smoking addict than a smokingenthusiast. nothing seemed to be capable of etinguishing that cigarette. even the wind seemed to be powerless. we showed him the cigarettes filled metal bo. we spotlighted the hazards of public smoking. but all was in vain.
mark twain was right, habit is habit, not to be flung out of window by anyone, but to be coaed downstairs one step at a time. i then tried to peel the stubborn onion one layer at a time."ok, i know how you feel. but do you know how other people around you feel?" "you see that child? actually he smokes more of your cigarette than you do!" "in fact, you are etinguishing one cell of lung cancer when you etinguish your cigarette. you are etinguishing one cell of the disease of selfishness when you etinguish your cigarette." it is that maybe that constant drops do wear the stone. at last he etinguished our words by etinguishing his cigarette.
as the sinking sun tinted the horizon, we began to count the cigarette ends, savoring our little victories.
that day saw me toiling for 6 hours, inviting loads of troubles, collecting 57 cigarette-ends,savoring hundreds of potential second hand smokers and developing for myself some sense of responsibility toward society.
though it was a little depressing to realize that those people would naturally pick up their "tradition" just where they had temporarily laid it down, yet how far can we estimate our actions would travel! and besides that, i was rewarded in another day.that is, the eperience dawned upon me the significance of care and consideration for other people. since then, i have been as cooperative as possible whenever i am asked to improve my public behavior and i am always ready to get involved in such volunteer work.
in a sense, the highest reward for ones toil is not what they get from it but what they become by it.
everything (he kept saying) is something it isnt. and everybody is always somewhere else. maybe it was the city, being in the city, that made him feel how queer everything was and that it was something else. maybe (he kept thinking) it was the names of the things. the names were te and frequently koid. or they were fle and oid or they were duroid (sand) or flesan (duro), but everything was glass (but not quite glass) and the thing that you touched (the surface, washable, crease-resistant) was rubber, only it wasnt quite rubber and you didnt quite touch it but almost. the wall, which was glass but turned out on being approached not to be a wall, it was something else, it was an opening or doorway--and the doorway (through which he saw himself approaching) turned out to be something else, it was a wall. and what he had eaten not having agreed with him.
he was in a washable house, but he wasnt sure. now about those rats, he kept saying to himself. he meant the rats that the professor had driven crazy by forcing them to deal with problems which were beyond the scope of rats, the insoluble problems. he meant the rats that had been trained to jump at the square card with the circle in the middle, and the card (because it was something it wasnt) would give way and let the rat into a place where the food was, but then one day it would be a trick played on the rat, and the card would be changed, and the rat would jump but the card wouldnt give way, and it was an impossible situation (for a rat) and the rat would go insane and into its eyes would come the unspeakably bright imploring look of the frustrated, and after the convulsions were over and the frantic racing around, then the passive stage would set in and the willingness to let anything be done to it, even if it was something else.
he didnt know which door (or wall) or opening in the house to jump at, to get through, because one was an opening that wasnt a door (it was a void, or kid) and the other was a wall that wasnt an opening, it was a sanitary cupboard of the same color. he caught a glimpse of his eyes staring into his eyes, in the and in them was the epression he had seen in the picture of the rats--weary after convulsions and the frantic racing around, when they were willing and did not mind having anything done to them. more and more (he kept saying) i am confronted by a problem which is incapable of solution (for this time even if he chose the right door, there would be no food behind it) and that is what madness is, and things seeming different from what they are. he heard, in the house where he was, in the city to which he had gone (as toward a door which might, or might not, give way), a noise--not a loud noise but more of a low prefabricated humming. it came from a place in the base of the wall (or stat) where the flue carrying the filterable air was, and not far from the minipiano, which was made of the same material nailbrushes are made of, and which was under the stairs. this, too, has been tested, she said, pointing, but not at it, and found viable. it wasnt a loud noise, he kept thinking, sorry that he had seen his eyes, even though it was through his own eyes that he had seen them.
The university is not only free but and learning both the field, it is the most wonderful life of an experience, and how to make their college life more colorful and gorgeous, it requires us to have a good, comprehensive and scientific planning of their college career. Effective plans will help to make better use of college time to improve themselves and to prepare for the world to open up their own world. The meaning of youth is that no matter what we choose, whether we succeed or not, we do not regret it. So the students should have a purpose, planned to carry out their college life, otherwise it can be your university time wasted in a cocoon around oneself.
I hope that through 4 years of college life, I deeply appreciate the joy and sweetness of youth and growth. We should not only work hard to learn professional knowledge, but also cultivate their own awareness of competition, awareness of innovation and teamwork. After 4 years of experience, I hope to be brave, strong, and positive.
Farewell to the age of high school, entering the University's school, and the course of life has opened a new page. The road of life entered a new stage, the students we have hope and longing into China Three Gorges University, the ideal life will be established here in the future will be here in the foundation, a good university will also start from here. Entering the university with a vision and facing the new environment of the new term is also an important base. We should adapt ourselves to the new environment as soon as possible, and make a series of corresponding plans to rebuild our world. Many people have asked myself: "the road of life in the University, for the reading of several of the students, is undoubtedly the most important turning point in life, but life is also planning to start up precisely in this period. How do you plan to design a future for yourself when you start college life? It may perhaps dull colorful, harmonious, perhaps full of challenges and thorns -- but no matter how, accumulate steadily, is an inevitable rule. I remember a philosopher said, "go all the way, this is your life." Yes, the road of life is long, because it is the interpretation of your life meaning. The road of life is short and short, because every day you live is your life. Everyone is designing their own life, and they are all realizing their dreams. China Three Gorges University is a large garden. I am just a small grass in Baihua garden, but there is a big dream in the little grass. Let me reflect on my college life here.
