2015考研英語長難句基礎(chǔ)翻譯練習（五十）

1. In the 2006 film version of The Devil Wears Prada， Miranda Priestly， played by Meryl Streep， scolds her unattractive assistant for imagining that high fashion doesn‘t affect her， Priestly explains how the deep blue color of the assistant’s sweater descended over the years from fashion shows to departments stores and to the bargain bin in which the poor girl doubtless found her garment. （2013. 閱讀。 Text 1）
【譯文】2006年電影《穿Prada的女魔頭》中，梅麗爾。斯特里普扮演的米蘭達。普利斯特里一角對片中毫不起眼且認為自己絲毫不受高端時尚影響的女助理批評不已，還講述了女助理毛衣的深藍色多年來先是流行于時尚秀場，然后風靡于百貨商場，最后淪落到折價區(qū)，自然只有窮女孩才在這里買衣服。
【析句】本復合句中有兩個獨立句子，第一句是Miranda Priestly scolds her for imaging……，played by Meryl Streep作插入語定語，for imagining是介賓結(jié)構(gòu)，imagining后又有that引導的賓語從句；第二句的主句為Priestly explains how the deep……descend from……to……and to……in which the poor girl……，how引導賓語從句，賓語從句中又包含in which引導的定語從句修飾bargain bin.
2. For H&M to offer a $5.95 knit miniskirt in all its 2，300-plus stores around the world， it must rely on low-wage overseas labor， order in volumes that strain natural resources， and use massive amounts of harmful chemicals.
【譯文】H&M若想為全球2300多家專賣店提供價格低至5.95美元的編制迷你短裙，必然依賴于低成本的海外勞動力，大額訂單以減少自然資源的使用，還要使用大量對人體有害的化學物質(zhì)。
【析句】本句的結(jié)構(gòu)比較清晰簡單，首先是for H&M to offer……，for是介詞，to offer 為不定式作補語，主句it must rely on overseas labor，order in volumes that……，and use……，有兩個并列的動詞rely on和use，其中，volumes后是that引導的定語從句。
3. Though several fast-fashion companies have made efforts to curb their impact on labor and the environment – including H&M， with its green Conscious Collection line –Cline believes lasting change can only be effected by the customer. （2013. 閱讀。 Text 1）
【譯文】幾大時裝廠商，都在設(shè)法減輕勞工和環(huán)境的壓力，H&M甚至發(fā)起了“自覺環(huán)�！毙袆樱贿^席琳認為除非消費者們改變觀念，否則還是白費力氣。
【析句】本復合句的主句為Cline believes that……，比較清晰的主謂賓語從句結(jié)構(gòu)，句前為though引導的讓步狀語從句，破折號中including……作插入語。注意，Conscious Collection line是H&M設(shè)計的一個時裝系列，更多采用比如棉布等天然材料，以利于環(huán)保。
