　　Edward：

　　Yesterday was 39℃. It was so hot that people could hardly breathe.

　　昨天都三十九度了，簡(jiǎn)直把人熱得喘不上氣來(lái)。

　　May：

　　Yeah, the temperature and humidity levels are higher here, much muggier than where we live.

　　可不是嘛，這里不但氣溫高，而且濕度大，比我們那兒悶熱多了。

　　Edward：

　　Did you see the weather forecast today?

　　你看今天的天氣預(yù)報(bào)了嗎?

　　May：

　　No. What did it say? Is it going to change?

　　沒(méi)呢，怎么?要變天嗎?

　　Edward：

　　It will be raining continuously for several days starting tomorrow, and the temperature will gradually drop.

　　從明天開始要連續(xù)下幾天雨，天氣會(huì)一天比一天涼快。

　　May：

　　That's great!

　　太好了!

　　老板不允許創(chuàng)造性思維

　　May：

　　I heard you quit.

　　聽說(shuō)你辭職了。

　　Edward：

　　Well, I didn't really hit it off with my boss.

　　是啊，我跟老板合不來(lái)。

　　May：

　　Why not?

　　怎么回事兒?

　　Edward：

　　I had a real hard-nosed boss. He didn't allow creative thinking and did everything by the book. I couldn't stand it.

　　老板很固執(zhí)，不允許創(chuàng)造性思維，一切都要照章辦事。我受不了。

　　May：

　　It's probably for the better.

　　辭了可能真的好些。
