　　translation interview 應(yīng)聘翻譯的面試

　　part one: (lao feng is interviewing for a translating position at nestle foods. g. romero is the interviewer.)

　　g. romero: send the next applicant in... greetings and welcome!

　　lao feng: how do you do? i am lao feng. (shaking hands)

　　g. romero: i am g. romero, and i will be your interviewer. nice to meet you.

　　lao feng: i am here about the opening for a translator.

　　g. romero: good, i remember your resume. you are still a student, right?

　　lao feng: that is correct, i will graduate in june of this year.

　　g. romero: during college did you have any part time jobs?

　　lao feng: yes, of course. i was an english tutor for two years.

　　g. romero: nice. what benefits did you get our of this experience?

　　lao feng: being a tutor made me responsible. while planning out a step by step long term class plan, i learned how to become very organized. and teaching english helped improve my own english skills.

　　g. romero: i see. on your resume it says you had a cultural exchange with americans. what does that mean?

　　lao feng: my spoken english teacher introduced his chinese students to americans studying in beijing. i met with mr. banderas, my counterpart, three times a week. i often showed tony many places of interest in beijing. in return he taught me modern american english and culture.

　　g. romero: how long did you have this exchange?

　　lao feng: we helped each other for almost two years. i see it as one of my greatest accomplishments.

　　g. romero: what benefits did you get out of this experience?

　　lao feng: by going beyond the duties of just a tutor, i got a lot of wonderful translating experience. i helped him order plane tickets, get a visa and talk with locals. more importantly, i got a feel for american culture. and it was tony that told me about nestle. he helped me research your company. he helped me understand that nestle would have the best working atmosphere for me. 　　馮勞：你好，我是馮勞(握手)。

　　g·羅米洛：我是g·羅米洛，我是你的面試者。很高興見到你。

　　馮勞：我來這里是有關(guān)一個(gè)翻譯職位的空缺。

　　g·羅米洛：好，我想起了你的簡(jiǎn)歷。你還是個(gè)學(xué)生，對(duì)嗎?

　　馮勞：沒錯(cuò)，我今年六月份畢業(yè)。

　　g·羅米洛：在上大學(xué)的時(shí)候你做過什么兼職工作嗎?

　　馮勞：是的，當(dāng)然。我做英語(yǔ)家教做了兩年。

　　g·羅米洛：不錯(cuò)。從這個(gè)經(jīng)歷里你獲得了什么?

　　馮勞：做家教使我富有責(zé)任心。在對(duì)長(zhǎng)長(zhǎng)的一個(gè)學(xué)期作出一個(gè)循序漸進(jìn)的計(jì)劃時(shí)，我學(xué)會(huì)了怎樣變得很有條理。而且，教英語(yǔ)有助于我提高自己的英語(yǔ)技巧。

　　g·羅米洛：我明白了。在你的簡(jiǎn)歷上你說你和美國(guó)人有文化交流。那指的是什么?

　　馮勞：我的口語(yǔ)老師為他的中國(guó)學(xué)生介紹了在北京學(xué)習(xí)的美國(guó)人。我和托尼·本德拉斯先生每周見三次。我經(jīng)常帶托尼游覽北京的名勝。作為回報(bào)，他教我現(xiàn)代美國(guó)英語(yǔ)與文化。

　　g·羅米洛：你做這種文化交流有多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間了?

　　馮勞：我們互相幫助有將近兩年的時(shí)間了。我把它當(dāng)作是我最大的一個(gè)收獲之一。

　　g·羅米洛：你從這種經(jīng)歷得到了什么?

　　馮勞：做家教本份工作之外的事情，我得到了很多很棒的翻譯經(jīng)驗(yàn)。我?guī)退�訂飛機(jī)票、辦理簽證并和本地人交流。更重要的是，我對(duì)美國(guó)文化有了一種感覺。正是托尼告訴我有關(guān)雀巢的事情。他幫我研究你們公司;幫我了解到雀巢將為我創(chuàng)造最好的工作環(huán)境。
